So, enough about a movie made so far back, lets review! For this review, it was just John and myself (Mike).

John: I thought it held up well over the years. If there was much special effects used in the movie, it was very subtle and you couldn't tell.

Mike: Ive totally got to agree with you, the effects were really good. This was the first time seeing the movie for me, and I really enjoyed it although I wasnt sure about the pacing. Maybe it is my ADD, but the slow parts just seemed too slow. The other thing that really resonated was how I related to the movie. During all of the action scenes, I was thinking how I would approach this from my "WW2 shooter game" point of view.

John: This is the first time I noticed Vin Deisel in the movie, probably because he hadn't starred in anything I've ever heard off before playing a short role in this film.

Mike: Another crazy thing was how many cameos there were... The dad from malcom in the middle, Jeremy Davies from Lost, Paul Giamatti, Mal from Firefly, and even Ted Danson. Guess when you are Steven Spielberg you can bring in whomever you want. I wonder if moments that were probably very powerful and moving 10 years ago are more like dark humor. I found plenty of that in this movie, and i wonder if all of it was intentional. I found myself being very glad that "old" private ryan wasnt just matt damon in old person makeup.

So, overall, fairly good scores, a total of 83! Not a 10 Year classic, but still pretty kick ass. Here is hoping that they don't do what the rest of Hollywood does and try to make a Saving Private Ryan 2: Tokyo Drift!

Next week our review will be on LEGOs! Why? Cause we can!
